Hillsborough Veterans Breakfast is on May 28, 2022
Registration is Required
Each year the Hillsborough community comes together to honor the service and sacrifice of all military personnel during the Annual "Salute to Military Service Breakfast", Memorial Day Parade and Garden of Honor Commemoration Program.The 2022 "Salute to Military Service Breakfast", Memorial Day Parade and Garden of Honor Ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 28th, at the Peter J. Biondi Municipal Complex. The breakfast will be held rain or shine on Saturday, however the Memorial Day Parade & Garden of Honor Ceremony will have a rain date of Sunday, May 29th.We ask all Hillsborough Military Service Personnel to register for a complimentary "Salute to Military Service Breakfast". For your convenience you can register several ways.

7:30 AM Doors Open for breakfast
9:30 AM Shuttle will depart the Municipal Complex to bring Military Service marchers to the front of the parade route once the breakfast completes.
10:00 AM Parade begins at New Amwell Rd & Auten Rd intersection and ends at the Municipal Complex, roughly .75 miles
10:45 AM Garden of Honor Ceremony

ESTABLISHED IN 1947, OUR VOICE OF DEMOCRACY AUDIO-ESSAY PROGRAM PROVIDES HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO EXPRESS THEMSELVES IN REGARD TO A DEMOCRATIC AND PATRIOT-THEMED RECORDED ESSAY. EACH YEAR, NEARLY 64,500 GRADE 9-12 STUDENTS FROM ACROSS THE COUNTRY ENTER TO WIN THEIR SHARE OF MORE THAN $2 MILLION IN EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS AND INCENTIVES AWARDED THROUGH THE PROGRAM.
THIS YEAR'S THEME WAS: "AMERICA: WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE."
2021-2022 PATRIOTS PEN WINNER FOR VFW POST 8371

EACH YEAR MORE THAN 165,400 STUDENTS IN GRADES 6-8 ENTER THE VFW'SPATRIOTS PEN YOUTH ESSAY CONTEST FOR A CHANCE TO WIN THEIR SHARE OF $1.4 MILLION IN STATE AND NATIONAL AWARDS. EACH FIRST PLACE STATE WINNER RECEIVES A MINIMUM OF $ 500 AT THE NATIONAL LEVEL, AND THE NATIONAL FIRST PLACE WINER WINS $5,000.
THE ESSAY CONTEST ENCOURAGES YOUNG MINDS TO EXAMINE AMERICA'S HISTORY, ALONG WITH THEIR OWN EXPERIENCES IN MODERN AMERICAN SOCIETY, BY DRAFTING A 300 - 400 WORD ESSAY, EXPRESSING THEIR VIEWS BASED ON A PATRIOTIC THEME: THIS YEARS THEME WAS " HOW CAN I BE A GOOD AMERICAN"?
