COMMANDER'S CORNER

My wife (Betty) and I have been married for 52+ years, and I have two children, Chris and Kelly. Chris recently passed away at 48; Kelly is married, lives in Hillsborough, and works for Merck; her husband, Keith, works for Verizon. We have two grandsons, 18 and 14, who are my focus, except my wife.

US Army (drafted) March of 1970 at Ft. Campbell, Ky, enlisted in the Regular Army (RA) April 1970, graduated basic training May 1970. Assigned to Ft. Monmouth, NJ, for Fixed Crypto Repair (32F20) school from June of 1970 through August of 1971. Upon graduation, I was assigned to StratCom Europe, with support functions for the 7th Army and NATO in Heidelberg, Germany, till March of 1973.  During this time, I had a Top-Secret clearance and held Special Intelligence access (sounds like an oxymoron) related to working on US Army secure voice equipment assigned to NATO Officials/Generals. I ETS out of Ft. Dix at the rank of SP5. Joined Hillsborough Memorial VFW Post #8371 in March of 2019 and held the post of Adjutant until recently elected Commander.

We go to baseball games where my grandsons are involved and play golf when the opportunity presents itself. We enjoy traveling, going out to dinner, and good scotch, but the priority of that order constantly changes.
